We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified local Fire Suppression leading hand to join our growing Mt Isa branch.

We’re looking for a proactive and skilled professional to carry out efficient diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on our cutting-edge mobile equipment used in the mining and construction industries.

As the go-to expert for our state-of-the-art mobile equipment, you’ll ensure peak performance and reliability, boosting productivity for our customers by applying your proactive approach to machine performance. Your efforts will drive success by helping our customers achieve their operational goals, expanding our customer base, and growing our support team. To support you, we offer comprehensive product training to keep you at the top of your game, along with dedicated support from our expert product support personnel.


Roster: 5 and 2 roster, day shifts.
Machinery worked on: Sandvik fire suppression systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Train and coach Fire Suppression Technicians and assist in training and accreditation in installation of fire suppression systems
  • Estimating and quoting of jobs for customers. Assistance with accumulating paperwork for Service coordination
  • Adhere to all policies & procedures especially the EHS policies
  • Support technicians from other regions and assist in training
  • Perform fault diagnosis, maintain and install Fire Suppression systems
  • Work effectively either in a team environment or autonomously
  • Be highly developed in your communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be able to identify opportunity for business growth; and actively participate in sales activities
  • Assist with machine audits/inspections
  • Internal Sandvik product accredited certification will be provided

About you

You are flexible to work with customer requirements, procedures, and follow all safety policies. The ideal candidate would have previous supervisor or management experience and have a positive attitude with a high level of determination to achieve targets set for customer satisfaction. You will have a keen eye for detail in hands on work as well as administrative duties.

Having direct knowledge and exposure to fire suppression systems applicable to predominantly underground with installation and service experience of Mobile Fire Suppression systems is beneficial and being accredited by the Fire Protection Association (FPA) will be highly sought after. We do also encourage anyone with leadership experience in a trade-based role (fitter and tuner or boiler maker) who is willing to learn fires suppression systems, to apply.

We are looking for someone who is currently living in Mount Isa or will be willing to relocate to the region, have a Valid driver’s license & Basic computer literacy incl. E-mail, Microsoft Excel and Word is required.
