Senior R&D Engineer

We at Sandvik Rock Processing are the leading supplier of equipment and services for the mining and construction industry. At our Lahti site we engineer and manufacture industry leading hydraulic hammers and other hydraulic attachments for maximum productivity.

Are you self-driven and dynamic person who wants to work for industry leading global company? We are now looking for experienced and business minded Senior R&D Engineer to join our R&D and Engineering team in Lahti, Finland.

Your role

You act as a Senior R&D Engineer in R&D and Engineering team. You contribute to R&D research and development projects and support daily engineering activities. Essential part of your work is to understand customer application challenges (rock processing). You have natural interest for problem solving at customer site and “behind the desk”. You capture and develop new ideas and understand what adds value to the business in product development.

Your profile

You hold a suitable technical degree (B.Sc. or M.Sc.) and you are experienced in mechanical engineering, preferably crushing and screening processes and bulk material handling solutions. As you work in a global environment you need to be fluent in English. You are by nature interested in new technology and possess ability to adopt and develop new tools and technologies and methods.

You are familiar with modern CAD and CAE tools and experienced in utilizing FEM in product development and problem solving. You have ability to solve technical challenges and perform root cause analyses. In addition, you are experienced in DEM. Experience in MBD is considered a merit. You have project management skills, and you have ability to deliver in timely and quality manner.

As an individual you are a team player committed to delivering results and you have a hands-on attitude towards bringing theory to practice. Independent ways of working and problem-solving attitude are needed to succeed in the position.
