Business Control Director

You report to the President of the Attachment Tools division and the location is flexible, global Sandvik locations are possible. Global travel is a natural part of the job.
About the job
In this position, you’re responsible for our full financial scope connected to the division. This includes continuous improvement of relevant processes and business models and setting efficient performance management systems. You’re a member of the division management team and a core contributor in setting and implementing strategy and ambition for the division. As part of our growth ambition includes M&As, you’re highly involved in these processes and following integration of acquired companies. You drive timely reporting of the consolidated actual performance, forecasts and targets, while supporting the operations with analysis, advice and tools.
By challenging the organization with your insights into the drivers of our business and profitability, you’re finding and addressing core issues in an effective and business-oriented manner while identifying possible ways of improvement. You work in close relation to the Rock Processing finance community to develop and share best practices, developing both yourself and your peers. An important part of your job is to ensure compliance with internal frameworks, as well as global laws and regulations.
Your responsibility includes the management of the annual, quarterly and monthly closing process of analyzing and presenting major parts of division consolidated financial performance by:
- maintaining standard reporting of monthly financial performance and follow up and supporting profitability analysis
- cooperating with finance teams to set plans, operational planning as well as reporting on forecast vs actual performance
- supporting management reporting needs in financial reporting and business controlling
- active participation in the division management team to maintain and develop long term planning, scenarios and strategy.
- participating in ad-hoc projects related to the division business control and drive the target setting and process for operational KPIs.
Your character
We’re looking for someone with a university degree in finance or a similar area. Your background includes experience of leading improvement projects and strategy development, working within several areas of finance and business control, as well as with M&A’s – preferably in an international environment. We believe that you have knowledge in driving processes, including change management. You have experience in IFRS and familiar with relevant tools, such as ERP’s and business intelligence software (e.g. Power BI). Acting in a truly global environment calls for excellent communication skills in English.
With your advanced analytical skills and solution-oriented attitude you have the ability to stay two steps ahead. You’re a natural leader with proven ability to coach and motivate others and you comfortably take charge when needed. You have a successful history of coaching people in an international setting, as well as of working with management teams. Your grounded and friendly approach motivates your co-workers, and your communicative skills allow you to easily gain trust and respect and to build strong, long-lasting relationships with both co-workers and external parties.
