About the job
In this role, you set the technical vision and roadmap for Process Control and AI, ensuring strategies align with measurable KPIs. You lead the entire lifecycle—from opportunity scoping and data acquisition to modeling, digital-twin simulation, controller design, and performance monitoring. Hybrid modeling, physics-informed machine learning, and advanced state estimation are part of your toolkit. Additionally, you engage directly with strategic customers to uncover value and shape use cases that deliver ROI.

Key focus areas include:

  • Driving R&D governance – prioritizing portfolios and fostering partnerships with universities and customers.

  • Leading innovation in process control and automation, ensuring robust solutions.

  • Supporting bids with compelling technical narratives and quantifiable business outcomes.

The location for this position is flexible. You report to the Process Control Manager.

Your profile
You bring several years of experience in R&D for industrial process control or applied ML in heavy industry, including working in multidisciplinary teams. You’re skilled in control theory, time-series modeling, and hybrid/physics-informed ML. You have hands-on experience across the full lifecycle—from data acquisition and model design to deployment and performance monitoring—and a proven track record of implementing process control solutions in production environments. You have a PhD in Physics, Chemistry, or a related field. Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is essential.


You’re an analytic thinker with a collaborative mindset. You navigate complexity with confidence, balance innovation with pragmatism, and communicate technical concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders.
