Application Specialist.

We are now looking for a driven Application Specialist to join our team in Bangkok, Thailand. In this role, you’ll be the technical expert supporting our sales organization, ensuring customers receive the best possible solutions with our cutting-edge machining technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Product & Services Implementation

  • Deliver technical solutions and sales support to customers and distributors in collaboration with Account Managers.

  • Coordinate between technical and commercial departments to prepare integrated solutions.

  • Support product and service introductions, technical presentations, and customer visits.

  • Recommend machining and digital solutions tailored to customer needs.

  • Respond to complex technical inquiries and troubleshoot implementation challenges.

  • Develop and deliver training for employees, partners, and customers.

  • Lead customer projects end-to-end with Account Managers, including post-sales support and training.

  • Liaise with engineers to configure products and services to customer requirements.

  • Document product performance and savings to strengthen competitiveness.

  • Monitor competitor activity and alternative solutions in your area of expertise.

  • Align technical solutions across customers, Account Managers, and internal teams.

WOW

  • Build strong relationships with customers and distributors to secure priorities.

  • Analyze customer needs and implement tailored solutions that drive profitable growth.

  • Champion cross-functional collaboration and future technologies to meet evolving customer demands.

  • Ensure opportunities are qualified and technically applied to maximize market share.

  • Act as an ambassador for innovation, ensuring Sandvik Coromant delivers competitive, first-class solutions.

Business Development Support

  • Contribute to business plans with Account Managers to increase market share and achieve financial targets.

  • Conduct proactive customer need analysis to identify opportunities.

Other Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate CRM (Dynamics) updates and participate in trade shows and company events.

  • Participate in company improvement initiatives and knowledge-sharing activities.

  • Continuously develop technical expertise through training and independent learning.

  • Represent Sandvik Coromant at industry events and act as an ambassador for innovation and future technologies.

Required Competencies

  • Broad technical knowledge in metal cutting tools and machining methods.

  • Strong expertise in CAD/CAM and digital technologies (Industry 4.0).

  • Knowledge of LEAN processes and productivity improvement programs.

  • Structured, organized, and business-oriented approach with strong execution capabilities.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a global matrix organization.

  • Experienced in using CRM systems and Office 365 tools.

Experience & Education

  • Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field.

  • Candidate must have the legal right to live and work in Thailand.

  • At least 3 years of working experience with cutting tools related industry.

  • High skills in communicating in the English language, both verbally and in writing.

  • Proficiency in Mandarin will be an added advantage to support frequent interaction with Chinese clients.

  • Fluent in Thai language.

  • Possess valid driving license and own transport

  • Good communicator and skilled at making technical presentations in front of a targeted group.

  • Solid technical experience with engineering cutting tools.

  • Proven track record of delivering business results.

  • Experience with CAD/CAM applications and digital machining solutions.

  • Project management experience is an advantage.

  • Experience in managing customer relationships is a plus.
